An unexpected pregnancy affects you, too. Maybe you found out an hour ago, or maybe you’ve been sitting with the news for a while. Either way, you might feel caught off guard, unsure what to say, or unsure what your role even is right now.
That’s normal, and you’re not on the outside of this. Sound Choices is here for you as well, with helpful information and a place to think it through.
Your Role Matters
You may not be the one who’s pregnant, but what you do right now carries weight. How you show up can make a real difference for her and for you.
That doesn’t mean having all the answers or fixing everything. Often, the most helpful thing is simply being present, listening without pushing, and letting her know she isn’t alone. This is a decision the two of you can face together, even if the final call is hers.
How to Support Her
Start by listening more than you talk. She may be feeling a lot at once, and having someone steady beside her matters more than any advice you could give.
Learn the facts alongside her. Understanding her options, from parenting to adoption to abortion, means you can talk throug each one as a team instead of guessing. Encourage her to confirm the pregnancy with a test and an ultrasound, and offer to come with her if she’d like your company.
Try not to rush her or yourself. Big decisions deserve thought.
Support for Men
If you’re stepping into manhood, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Sound Choices offers a manhood program built to help men prepare for the role, with practical guidance and support from people who get it.
It’s a space to ask the questions you might not feel comfortable asking anywhere else, and to build confidence for what’s ahead.
Have Questions?
Whatever you’re feeling, you deserve support and clear information just as much as she does. There’s no cost, and no judgment.
